Fortunately, at Beautologie Cosmetic Surgery & Medical Aesthetics, we offer a variety of high-quality, non-invasive skin treatments to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, acne scars, birthmarks, discolored patches of skin, rosacea, and more. Dr. Milan Shah and our Medical Aesthetics staff has extensive training in using the most popular and advanced technologies for skin care on the market, including the UltraPulse® Encore™ CO2 Laser Skin Resurfacing System and Lumenis One™ Photo Facial Rejuvenation System. Our advanced treatments allow patients to achieve healthy, youthful skin.
UltraPulse® Encore™ Laser Skin Resurfacing
Laser skin resurfacing using the UltraPulse® Encore™ CO2 laser provides a convenient and effective way to treat a wide variety of skin imperfections, including wrinkles, acne scars, uneven discolorations, and birthmarks to reveal smoother, healthier, and younger-looking skin. Laser skin resurfacing works by removing damaged layers of skin on the surface while promoting the production of collagen and new skin cells. The result is a radiant and flawless complexion.
Laser Skin Resurfacing Procedure
During the laser skin resurfacing procedure at our Bakersfield practice, the UltraPulse® Encore™ CO2 laser is used to vaporize imperfections on the outer layers of the skin and stimulate the growth of new skin cells. Numbing cream is used to numb the area before the procedure. The procedure can take up to two hours, depending on the size of the area being treated. Patients can address areas around the eyes, mouth, or the entire face. Full dramatic results from the laser skin resurfacing procedure can be seen in two weeks when a new layer of healthy skin emerges. Over time, the skin's elasticity will improve because the CO2 laser promotes the growth of new collagen. Find out how you can turn back the hands of time on your complexion. Lumenis One™ IPL® Photo Facial Rejuvenation System
Individuals with redness, blotchiness, or flushing of the skin on the face and/or neck from rosacea, hyperpigmentation, acne, sun damage, and other conditions can achieve a more uniform skin tone with IPL® photo facial rejuvenation. Our Bakersfield Medical Aesthetics locations are proud to feature the Lumenis One™ IPL® Photo Rejuvenation System, one of the most advanced and popular facial rejuvenation systems on the market today. The Lumenis One™ IPL® Photo Rejuvenation system uses an intense pulsed light to penetrate into deep layers of the skin to constrict blood vessels, which in turn reduces redness on the skin for a luminous and glowing complexion.
IPL Facial Rejuvenation Procedure
During the IPL® facial rejuvenation procedure, the patient is given special eyewear to wear for protection. Next, a gel is put on targeted areas of the face, and the face is exposed to high-energy light waves to eliminate wrinkles, discolorations, and other flaws on the skin. The IPL® light also stimulates the production of collagen, resulting in a smoother, suppler skin texture. To complete the IPL® facial rejuvenation procedure, ice is applied to the face to reduce any discomfort.
The entire procedure takes up to an hour, depending on the size of the treated area. Skin may become red and sensitive following facial rejuvenation treatment, but these should disappear after a few hours. Patients can return to their normal daily activities immediately after treatment. To attain optimal results, patients generally must undergo five treatments, which are performed three to six weeks apart. IPL® facial rejuvenation can be combined with other non-surgical skin treatments offered at our practice, such as chemical peels and photodynamic acne therapy for superior cosmetic results. Laser Peel FX
The FX-laser system is a safe, precise and effective treatment. It can help you achieve many wonderful results such as; softening fine lines and wrinkles, removing unwanted age spots and stimulating natural collagen production for long lasting wrinkle improvements. It can also help reduce pore size and smooth the texture and tone of the skin. With just one laser peel you will see the difference in tone and texture of your skin and for maximum results we recommend doing a series of 3 laser peels. After your recommend 3 lasers peels your results will last for years! Even your friends and family will notice!
The Laser Peel FX Procedure
The FX-laser produces a beam of laser light that works to remove the outer layers of aged and sun damaged tissue. This gentle treatment stimulates skin cell turn over and promotes the formation of collagen and elastin fibers that will strengthen the skin. During the treatment you will be in the office for about an hour. During this time we will numb the skin with a topical cream. Along with using a topical numbing cream, we also use a specialized cooling device which makes this treatment very well tolerated.
Levulan® Photodynamic Acne Therapy
At Beautologie in Bakersfield, we offer photodynamic acne therapy using Levulan® for the treatment of mild to moderate acne that has become resistant to medication over time. Photodynamic acne therapy can also be used to treat rosacea, age spots, skin discoloration, and other common skin conditions. The treatment combines Intense Pulsed Light™ (IPL®) therapy with the powerful and effective Levulan® Kerastick® photosensitizing solution, which is made from aminolevulinic acid, a substance that is found naturally in the body. Together, Levulan® and IPL® combat the source of acne to prevent new breakouts and improve the condition of facial skin and appearance.
Photodynamic Acne Therapy Procedure
During the procedure, the Levulan® Kerastick® photosensitizing formula is applied to the face 90 minutes prior to IPL® photo facial rejuvenation treatment. IPL® energy activates the Levulan®, which helps to kill acne-causing bacteria on the face. The energy also unclogs pores and stops the production of oil from the sebaceous glands. The result is clear, almost flawless skin. Patients may experience redness, peeling, and sensitivity to sunlight following treatment. However, these and other side effects should disappear within two days. For the ultimate results, patients should undergo three to four photodynamic acne therapy treatments that are spaced four to six weeks apart. Contact Dr. Milan Shah to schedule an appointment for Levulan® photodynamic acne therapy.
