About Sculptra®
Sculptra® Injections
Sculptra is a type of dermal filler that is used for facial rejuvenation and to address signs of aging. Unlike traditional fillers that provide immediate volume by plumping the skin, Sculptra® stimulates the body's natural collagen production over time, resulting in a more gradual and natural-looking improvement.
What is Sculptra®?
Sculptra® is an injectable medication composed of poly-L-lactic acid, a biocompatible and biodegradable synthetic material. As the first—and original—injectable collagen stimulator containing microparticles of poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA-SCA), Sculptra® helps restore facial skin structure, which may provide long-lasting skin improvement.
How does Sculptra® work?
Sculptra® is injected into the skin, it works by stimulating the production of collagen, a protein that provides structure and elasticity to the skin. Collagen production gradually increases in the treated areas, leading to improved skin texture and volume.
Treatment Areas: Sculptra® is commonly used to address facial wrinkles and folds, particularly those around the nose and mouth. It is often used to treat nasolabial folds, marionette lines, and deep wrinkles. It can also be utilized in gluteal enhancement.
Treatment Schedule: Unlike some other dermal fillers that provide immediate results, Sculptra® requires a series of treatments spaced several weeks apart. This gradual approach allows for a more natural-looking outcome.
Results: The results of Sculptra® injections are not instant; they become noticeable over a few months as collagen production increases. The effects can last up to two years, making it a longer-lasting solution compared to some other fillers.
Consultation and Customization: Before undergoing Sculptra® treatment, individuals typically have a consultation with a qualified practitioner. During this consultation, the practitioner assesses the patient's facial structure, discusses their aesthetic goals, and develops a customized treatment plan.
Safety: Sculptra® has been approved by regulatory authorities in various countries and is considered safe when administered by trained and experienced professionals. As with any cosmetic procedure, there are potential side effects, and it's important for individuals to discuss their medical history and expectations with their healthcare provider.
Post-Treatment Care: Patients may experience some swelling or redness at the injection sites, but these effects are usually temporary. Following post-treatment care instructions is crucial for optimal results and to minimize the risk of complications.
About Restylane®
Restylane® Injections
Our Bakersfield practice provide Restylane® injections to our patients. One of the newest dermal treatments on the market today, Restylane® injections offer a safe approach to smoothing facial wrinkles and moisturizing the skin.
What Is Restylane®?
Restylane® is a clear biodegradable gel made of hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance found in the body. Hyaluronic acid fills in the spaces between collagen and elastin fibers to cushion soft tissue. Over time, the amount of hyaluronic acid in the body decreases due to the natural aging process, contributing to the appearance of facial lines and wrinkles. Restylane® injections are used to help replace the hyaluronic acid, resulting in a more youthful facial appearance.
Restylane® Treatment Process
In performing the treatment, the doctor or nurse uses a thin needle to inject Restylane® into skin tissue. The hyaluronic acid in the gel draws in water, causing the tissue near the fine lines and wrinkles to swell and attain a smoother appearance. Because the needle is very fine, patients experience little to no pain during the treatment. The entire Restylane® procedure takes less than an hour, and patients can resume their normal activities immediately after treatment. Because of this, Restylane® treatment is known as a "lunchtime" procedure. Restylane® injections can be combined with BOTOX® Cosmetic treatment for optimal aesthetic results.
Benefits of Restylane® Injections
Many patients choose to undergo Restylane® treatment because it safely and effectively reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles for an extended period of time. Wrinkles around the eyes, nose, and mouth seem to disappear following Restylane® treatment without the need for invasive surgical procedures such as a facelift, brow lift or eyelid surgery. Restylane® can also add volume to lips for a fuller and more sensual pout, and it can be used to shape facial contours. The effects of Restylane® last for up to twelve months, making it one of the longest-lasting dermal fillers on the market. Because Restylane® is not animal based, the risk for an allergic reaction is minimal.
About JUVÉDERM™
JUVÉDERM™ Injectable Gel
At Beautologie, in addition to Restylane® injections, we offer treatment with JUVÉDERM™ Injectable Gel as a safe and effective alternative to animal-based dermal fillers. Recently approved by the Food and Drug Administration, JUVÉDERM™ Injectable Gel is a dermal filler made of hyaluronic acid that helps to smooth the skin and reduce the appearance of unsightly facial lines and wrinkles for an extended period of time. Because JUVÉDERM™ Injectable Gel is slowly absorbed by the body, patients who undergo treatment enjoy healthier and younger-looking skin for up to nine months.
JUVÉDERM™ Injectable Gel Process
JUVÉDERM™ Injectable Gel is administered at our practice by our expertly trained injectors in the same way as Restylane® injections. Because of the smooth consistency of the gel, patients experience little to no discomfort during treatment. The procedure lasts less than an hour and results can be seen immediately. For more information on treatment with JUVÉDERM™ Injectable Gel, contact Beautologie Cosmetic Surgery & Medical Aesthetics today.
About Bellafill®
Bellafill® Injections
Our practice is proud to offer Bellafill® injections, the first and only FDA-approved permanent wrinkle filler on the market. Also known as Artecoll®, the dermal filler has been used throughout Europe and Canada to reduce the appearance of wrinkles around the nose and mouth. Unlike Restylane® and JUVÉDERM™ Injectable Gel, Bellafill® is made of polymethylmethacrylate beads suspended in bovine collagen. The beads stimulate the production of collagen in the body, and as the solution degrades, it is replaced by the body's natural collagen. Because of this, Bellafill® provides longer lasting results than other fillers.
Bellafill® Injections Process
Your provider injects Bellafill® through a very thin needle directly into the area needing treatment. The entire Bellafill® treatment process takes less than an hour. Results are immediately apparent, and patients can return to their daily activities after their appointment.
